Day 111: Superman

Today's photo was taken by my daughter Jenna at the end of school last May. I love it because it shows what Mr. Griffis is to so many of our kids...he is Superman. Today I drove Jenna and our friend Mady to play practice and on the way we all shared jokes that we have heard from Mr. Griffis. If you don't know John, he is famous for telling his students jokes each day...and they're usually pretty bad!!!! :) Here's one that Jenna relayed today.

"Mike Gundy goes to heaven and when he gets there he is shown to a beautiful house painted orange and decorated with OSU stuff. Well the next day, Mike is walking down his street and he sees this mansion that is painted crimson and cream and decorated with OU logos and schooners and signs that say 'Boomer Sooner'. He stops an angel going by and asks, 'How come Bob Stoops has a house four times as big as mine?' The angel replies, 'That's not Bob Stoops' house. That's God's house'."

John...come back soon and make us laugh some more.

  • Jim, just thought of you and John hosting Mom, Dad and I at your Norman apartment for dinner one stormy night. It was the first time I had heard of mozzerella sticks, and to think they were homemade by John. I've never had any better. Dad appreciated the wonerful meal and company. So many memories and so little time.
