Going to the light ...
The genesis of this blog was a discontent that I felt regarding my photography. I felt like I had acquired the right equipment and I had good software and to some extent I had learned what I should about the basics of photography. But I felt that I was stuck in cycle of producing acceptable mediocrity. I found myself oft repeating in my head the promise that I would work on mastering my craft when I had more time. But as with most things, the more time never materialized. One day I had the good fortune to run across a photo-of-the-day project that really inspired me. The thought that all I had to produce was one photo a day seemed like a reasonable goal. In addition, it seemed to me that the accountablity of placing my project online would help keep me on track. So on August 1, 2009 I committed to producing a photo each day for 365 days.

I'm a full-time faculty member at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. In my spare time I take photos...sometimes for extra income and sometimes simply for the pleasure of capturing life-moments in this rich medium. I have a wife & daughter who are my greatest support and who inspire me to keep moving forward.
